Choosing your wedding date sounds simple enough until you're suddenly juggling seasons, supplier availability, family holidays, sporting events, school breaks and that one relative who seems to be permanently on holiday.

The good news is that there isn't a perfect date. There is only the date that's perfect for you.
Some couples choose a date with sentimental meaning, perhaps the anniversary of when they met, their first date or a special family connection. Others work backwards from their dream season, deciding whether they picture themselves saying "I do" surrounded by spring flowers, summer sunshine or the rich colours of autumn.

It's also worth thinking about the practical side of things. Are there key guests who absolutely need to be there? Do you want the flexibility of a long weekend? One thing we often remind couples is not to become too attached to a single day before they've started venue hunting. Falling in love with a venue is much easier than finding a venue that happens to have one very specific Saturday available.
In fact, some of the most incredible weddings we've hosted have taken place on dates the couple hadn't originally considered. A midweek celebration, a Sunday gathering or an off-peak date can often provide more flexibility, greater supplier availability and sometimes even help stretch your budget a little further.
